Our 2024 membership application for BEGA is available (docx, pdf). New members should fill out the application and send it to Lance Morris along with the yearly dues. Existing members will only need to send in your yearly dues to maintain your BEGA membership each year. Your personal information will be saved and you will not have to provide it to BEGA again unless there have been changes.

BEGA News and Info

BEGA is very excited to announce that we will be returning to Mesquite NV, about an hour north of Las Vegas, for our 2025 Travel'N'Golf Spring Tournament. It is a golf mecca in the high desert with lots of elevation changes and scenic views. Mesquite doesn’t have the watering restrictions that Las Vegas does so the courses are really nice. It is also a short drive from Zion National Park which has some great hikes and views for non-golf time.
BEGA returned to Perdido Key for our annual Travel'n'Golf fall tournament. The results and payout are now posted. This is always a great way to finish out our season. Thanks for participating and making this a great, yet somewhat smaller, event again this year. Watch your email for details on the trip to Mesquite May 6-12 of 2025 coming out shortly.
During the Pumpkinball Tournament, the overall BEGA League Champion was determined in a separate playoff. Ryan Thorton (Monday), Joe Jackson (Tuesday) and Martin Cousins (Saturday) each represented their leagues in the playoff. Congratulations to Martin Cousins who won the playoff and was presented with the 2024 BEGA League Champion's trophy.
The Pumpkin Ball Tournament was held at Burningtree County Club in Decatur on Saturday October 19th. After a little chilly start, it warmed up quickly and was a beautiful day for golf.
The September Monthly Tournament was canceled due to weather,
The August Monthly Tournament was a four person team, best three balls at Goose Pond Lake on August 3rd. It was a really tight competition with only 5 strokes separating first and last among the 7 teams. The next monthly tournament will be at Cypress Lakes on September 28th.
Our July Monthly Tournament was held on Saturday, July 13th at Colonial Golf Club. This was a fun tournament with the format being a four person scramble, with only 4 clubs allowed for each person.
The June Monthly Tournament was held at Cross Creek Golf Course in Cullman, Al, on June 22, 2024 using a 4 person Shamble format. A special CONGRATULATIONS to Jerry Kempel for his hole in one on hole number 3. Nice that the team scored a net zero on that hole!! Jerry and team, we will get our drinks later. 🤣
Our May Tournament was canceled due to weather.
The 2024 Travel'n'Golf Spring Tournament was held at Fairfield Glade in Crossville, TN. Everything did not go as planned but the group still managed to have fun. The golf courses were spectacular and the two we did not play may have been even better. Even the phantom buffet led to some good times at other restaurants! Surprisingly, we had some great scores on those CPO courses in midst of rain and thunder. Make plans to join us at our yearly Perdido Key Tournament Oct 27-Nov 3.
The April Tournament was a flighted four person scramble held at Gunter's Landing on the 27th. The course was in great shape and the ten teams playing today enjoyed the golf, camaraderie and the scenic beauty of the golf course.
The March Tournament was held at Southern Gayles Golf Club and Grille in Athens on Saturday, March 23. The format was a two person team best-ball. Thanks to all who participated and special thanks Greg Komaro and his staff for arranging the food and managing the shuffling of the teams.
Linda Brooks has finalized our 2024 BEGA Master Schedule. This includes our schedules for the Tuesday and Saturday leagues as well as our Monthly Tournaments. The Monday league will continue to play at Sunset Landing. Be sure to thank Linda for putting this all together the next time you see her. Let's have a great 2024.
On July 2020 BEGA Handicaps were transitioned to a newer system that incorporates most of the World Handicap System. Your entry into that system is from the BEGA Portal which can be accessed either from the link at the top of this page or from the BEGA Handicaps Page. We also introduced the new BEGA Portal which is now being used to manage monthly Tournaments, Saturday League play, Senior League play TravelnGolf events and BEGA Handicaps. The monthly Tournaments, Saturday League and Senior League webpages will continue to be your primary source for overall information and results.
The Handicap Committee has compiled local rules for all BEGA leagues, tournaments and Travel'N'Golf events. These local rules plus links to BEGA and USGA handicap information can be accessed from our Handicap Page.
BEGA is now on Facebook. This is a closed group for BEGA Members and their spouses. It was created to allow us to communicate members activity - bragging rights, gentle pokes, and to add photos individually.
